Official Rules of the XFL

REGULAR SEASON

• The regular season will consist of 10 games that are played on Saturday or Sunday.
• The 2001 Season starts on February 3.
• The 2001 Season ends April 21.

POST SEASON

• The top 2 teams in each division will go into the playoffs.
• The winners of the first round of the playoffs go to the championship game.

TEAMS

• Each Team has 45 players on it:
• 38 active players
• 7 practice squad players

PLAYERS

• Different players make different salary:
  • Punters make around $35,000 a year.
  • QuarterBacks make around $50,000 a year.
  • Other Players make around $45,000 a year.

• If the team they play for wins a game during the regular season they will split a purse of $100,000. That is equal to about $2,500 per player

• If the team they play for looses a game during the regular season they will split a purse of $0.

• If the team they play wins the XFL superbowl game they will split a purse of $1,000,000.

• If the team they play for looses the XFL superbowl game they will split a purse of $0.

• The players will be miked.

• Spontaneous player celebration are allowed just as long as they dont delay the game.

COACHES

• Coaches will be miked.

LOCKER ROOM

• Locker Room will be miked during halftime.

GAME TIME

• There is no overtime in the XFL.

• Halftime is only 10 minutes long.

• TV time alloted per game is three hours long.

PLAY CLOCK

• The play clock is only 35 seconds long.
